Regarding expatriate health insurance policy and medical report submission

The following documents are required for visa applications and visa extensions, except for Work Visas and Business Visas, from May 31st, 2022.

  1. A medical report issued from a hospital / clinic, approved by the Ministry of Health.
  2. Expatriate health insurance policy issued by a local insurer.

As such, these documents must be submitted with Marriage Visa, Dependent Visa and Student Visa applications.  

Though all the above-mentioned categories of visas (Marriage Visa, Dependent Visa and Student Visa) require health insurance, note the following specifications regarding the medical report.

Marriage Visa: Medical report is required only when applying for a new marriage visa. It is not required for extensions.

Dependent Visa: Medical report is required for new applications and extensions.

Student Visa: A doctor certificate regarding the health of the applicant will be enough for children below 5 years. Otherwise, a medical report is required for new applications and extensions.


Note: The above-mentioned documents are not required for Tourist Visa extensions and Sponsorship Declaration applications.
